Location
Talampaya National Park is part of a magical desert, at the heart of the Northwestern province of La Rioja, in Argentina. Its 215,000 hectares spread on the Departments of General Lavalle, Independencia and General Felipe Varela.

Access to the park is by National Routes 150 and 76. Traveling west from Patquia to Villa Union, both roads cross a semi-desert covered in woods of chañar and algarrobo (regional tree species).
The entrance to Talampaya Canyon is located on Km 144, where “Parador Turístico” (tourist spot) was established on March 1, 2006. This is a newly built facility that welcomes our guests with the comfort they need to enjoy their holidays in the wilderness.
There is a restaurant, some business offices, a camping ground, toilets and a space for multiple-use where the park activities are planned.

This is the starting point for all our tours to the trials authorized by Argentinean National Parks. Our new fleet of vehicles and our expert local guides make sure all your needs are catered for during these tours.
Around Talampaya Canyon, the closest towns are Villa Union and Patancillo, about 58Kms away. Also, on National Route 40 is Chilecito, after passing Nonogasta and Sañogasta, as well as the amazing Cuesta de Miranda.
